CE Marking is one of the measures aimed at removing technical barriers to trade in the field of construction products. TLJ recognise the importance of the scheme and, as such, are proud to hold the mark in respect of our electronic locks and access control products.
Our CE status relates to a range of test criteria, including mechanical durability and the vital area of fire safety. It delivers a harmonised standard for the product category, including EN14846:2008 (physical operation of electromechanical locks) and EN1634-1:2014 (fire safety). The tests are carried out in accredited laboratories, following a series of clearly defined procedures. For example, to achieve fire safety accreditation, the lock set, when fitted to a test door, must withstand at least 30 minutes of burning on either side of the door.
Our CE Marking is awarded by Exova Warrington Certification, a division of Exova Group, one of the world’s most highly respected materials testing and product qualification test houses. In order to grant the certification, representatives visit our manufacturing site to thoroughly audit the production process. In addition, all samples are selected randomly by the test house, to ensure impartiality and that they accurately reflect those used in the field. The testing process is carried out annually.
All installation and commissioning of our locks in the Republic of Ireland is carried out by PSA licensed contractors
