Project details

TLJ was commissioned to install comprehensive access control systems at The Collective’s sites in and around the capital. They exclusively provide co-living and co-working spaces, perfect for urban dwelling in London.

The Old Oak site in Acton comprises 500 residential apartments (some studios, some twodios) and was part of the The Collective’s £100m construction project. TLJ installed the Infinity electronic lock on all apartment doors, as well as over 50 communal doors and elevator control to all 10 floors.

TLJ worked alongside the main contractor and the maintenance and engineering contractor to integrate bedroom and apartment doors with public access door readers, magnetic locks and the fire alarm link.

A resident’s key card gains them access to the from entrance, stairways, elevators, communal spaces and their individual apartments and bedrooms.

TLJ’s electronic locking system has removed so many headaches for us. If and when (and it’s usually when) residents forget or lose their key cards, it’s so easy to cut them a new one straight away. The real-time audit trail available for each lock is a boon, and the additional peace of mind from having every access point precisely configurable to a particular user is worth its weight in gold.

Speaking of price, the fact that TLJ were considerably cheaper than their nearest competitor when quoting for the project did them no harm whatsoever.

Their aftersales service is second to none too; really we couldn’t ask for more.
