Stunningly located in the shadow of Wells Cathedral, the hotel is steeped in over 500 years of history. The Swan Hotel has a unique charm offering guests modern amenities in a beautiful and relaxed setting. It has been sympathetically restored and extended; to ensure every comfort within its 48 bedrooms, luxurious Cathedral Suite and self contained apartments. Award-winning food and attentive staff ensure the perfect venue for any special occasion. A Health Suite is available for the exclusive use of guests.
The hotel offers 48 individually designed bedrooms of which many feature period antique furniture and some boast original four poster beds. Several have spectacular views of the Cathedral, whilst others are spacious enough to accommodate families. All rooms are equipped with TV, complimentary Wi-Fi and ensuite facilities.
They have our Hotel Lock System installed on throughout the hotel, including all guest rooms, the cathedral suite and the Swan mews self contained apartments.
Updating the guest room security had been on the agenda for some time for Terri and her team but it was important to find the right solution and provider. As the hotel was expanding the traditional keys were becoming inadequate and costly to replace but it was imperative to have one system that could cater for the various buildings and types of doors that make up the Swan.
The reason they chose TLJ security systems was primarily their customer service and attention to specific requirements.
All 48 bedrooms and the luxurious Cathedral Suite now boast state of the art locking systems. Guests are issued with a RFID card that allows them to gain access to their room without physically touching the lock. The locks will also interface with the hotel’s electronic booking system.
The work caused the minimum of disruption to guests as it took 3 fitters only 5 days to complete.
Commenting on the project General Manager, Terri Chichester said, “Although these new locks are 600 years younger than parts of the hotel they do not look out of place. The sheer speed of the work meant that we had one instance of a guest returning to their room after breakfast only to find that the door lock had changed!”
